Man. I don't know if Blogger's been having issues this morning, or if it's just been my internet (which has definitely [also] been having issues). Either way, it's driving me nuts.
Fireworks over Brisbane, from South Bank:
Erica and I were discussing the power of black & white photography one day, and after making the comment that "all photographs" looked amazing in black and white, she rethought that, then began to ponder whether certain topics would look better that way after all. Turns out, even fireworks have the potential to look awesome in black & white, sometimes.
This was taken in full colour, on the "fireworks" setting, and later converted to black and white.

Flowers In The Dust
Good morning! I've just spent the better part of two hours looking for a photo for you all today. I think it might be time to head out for some photo taking one day soon, somehow. Unfortunately, many of my 'best' shots are of some of the children who have been (or are) in my life.
Pink flowers in a dust storm:
In 2009, Brisbane was hit by a rather impressive dust storm. It was a Wednesday and I was at my therapy group at the time; we took a break and when I stepped outside, the world was dust-coloured! I had my camera, though, so I snapped off a few quick shots. This is a full colour photo, though you can hardly tell with the dust-haze!

Mine!
Another Friday has come along!
Seagull pair at Brisbane's Southbank:
I'm not generally a fan of birds, and seagulls aren't exactly the prettiest ones there are, but I caught this pair of seagulls by chance, using my old Kodak DX6440, zoomed in and presumably on general settings.

Abandoned
Alright, you're all in luck. I'm waiting for someone to get back to me about a word sprint, and I don't want to spoil my perfect count while I wait, so you do get a second photo today!
An old rusted car at DreamWorld (in the dingo enclosure):
On a bright day, trying for some over-exposed bright shots, I got this photo of a rusted car. No idea what setting I was using that day, unfortunately, but I did zoom in.

Simple Pleasures
I'm late, I'm late, for the most important part of my daily routine -- the bit where I post up a photograph for all of you, of course! Sorry I never posted one for yesterday - I went out early, then went to bed early when I got home. Had intended to get up again and do some writing, but it didn't happen.
If I remember, I may post a second picture tonight to make up for it.
A cute little otter enjoying a king prawn:
When I did my ZooVentures tour at Canberra Zoo, one of the things I got to do was to feed the otters. We stood at the edge and threw them fish and prawns. I managed to zoom in and snatch this photo of him delightedly chowing down.

Allerton
Not much to say this morning, so have at it!
Allerton in Southbank:
On a visit to Brisbane's Southbank, sitting down at our favourite area, I snagged this photo of my friend's bear, Allerton. Macro (big surprise, I know!) on general settings, on a lovely clear day and voilà!

Just Grate
Sorry I missed my post this morning; I had to rush out nice and early and didn't have time to post before I left. I'll probably have more luck posting in the morning tomorrow.
A street grate in Loganlea:
Sorry for the bad pun - but not so sorry I'm not going to use it. Part of the Edges series, I don't remember much about taking this photo except that it was on the black and white setting.
